While the majority of people who are familiar with the Ask The Vet program only know it from the radio, the truth is that the show existed in a variety of forms. The veterinarian that served as the main host of the program was Dr. Tracy Dewhirst and she had other pet related activities outside of Ask The Vet.

She also wrote a weekly column for the Knoxville News Sentinel, the local newspaper from the same region that the radio show was produced. In the column that appeared each and every Friday, Dr. Dewhirst answered questions that were sent in from readers and listeners.
